From NewOrderOnline.com (JonnyMac)
I was at this gig 20 odd years ago - I will put down what I remember.
The Savoy was an Old cinema with the front seats removed - a very intimate venue long since gone. The crows was somewhere between 300-500.
Support was provide by Cork Legends "Five Go Down To The Sea". Apparently New Order had a big fight backstage before coming on and were in foul humour as they walked on. Someone from the audience spat at the band and missed (spitting at bands was still common practice in Cork long after punk was dead and buried). Mr. Hook went to the microphone: "Someone in here is spitting!" came out in a menacing voice - there was no more spitting after that.
Well, the crowd (including me) were all expecting a Joy Division laced set as they only had the movement album out at the time. Unfortunately the only song I can definitely remember them playing was Blue Monday which was my first time hearing it.
There was no encore.
