From NewOrderOnline.com (Tim Treat)
This was the first New Order concert I attended. I drove from Omaha to Chicago and stayed with a friend. The concert was originally scheduled a couple of days earlier, but due to heavy rains and flooding the show was postponed. Gene Loves Jezzabel and Echo and the Bunnyman opened. It started to pour again as Echo closed its set (with Ocean Rain material ironically). It was nice seeing the set list. I didn't recognize Touched by the Hand of God as it was relatively new. In fact, I believe Substance was released around this same time frame. Awesome show by New Order. I was in the fourth row or so on Peter Hook's side of the stage. It seems I remember Bernard wearing shorts and an Adidas T-Shirt. On several occasions, girls rushed the stage to give him a hug. I still got my T-shirt from the show. It's one old concert shirt I can still wear as it was an extra-large. Of course, it's kinda beat up at this point. I have to rank this near the top of concerts I've attended. I was lucky to see the Clash in Texas and I saw REM on their Reckoning tour which was great. But this ranks right with them.
