Crucially, Sakura marked the groups' first tentative venture into electro territory, the chattering sequencer line having been concocted by Jon Hurst and New Order mainman Bernard Sumner during an all-night brainstorming session at SSRU late in 1981 Sakura is, incidently, both a Japanese rice cake brand and a floppy disc manufacturer. |
